On May 14, 2009, several Willacy County residents participated in the inaugural session of the CJP at the Raymondville Courthosue. Private attorneys James Hunter (Cameorn County Bar Association President), Nemecio Lopez, Bland Puente, Ryan Solis and Seferino Treviño, Jr. volunteered their time and resources. District Clerk Gilbert Lozano and his staff were available to process the pleadings. All the volunteers involved are excited about beginning the CJP in Willacy County. This program will empower low-income Willacy county residents with the resources they need to get a divorce.
